Kid’s Connection
Kid’s Connection is located at 521 N.  7th Street in Leavenworth.  It was started in cooperation with St. Paul Lutheran Church and Independent Baptist Church in  2004. It is a place where school age kids can gather to work on homework, have a snack, and meet friends.  They have computers, games, books, and  table space for school work and snacks.

 

How to get involved: Volunteers are always needed.  Kid’s Connection opens at 3:00 p.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m.  Monday through Thursday.  Adults are needed to help with homework and serve as reminders to the kids of appropriate behavior.  Contact Carol Sharp.

Our church also provides snack food for the kids.  On Wednesday’s we like to provide a fresh snack, such as fresh fruit or veggies, healthy muffins, cheese, etc.  There is a signup sheet in the cross-aisle at church for bringing such snacks.  They need to be dropped off at Kid’s Connection by 3:30 p.m.  on Wednesday.  If you are unable to provide a fresh snack, we also collect non-perishable snacks, like granola bars, dried fruit, trail mix, prepackaged fruit cups, cereal bars, packaged crackers and peanut butter or crackers and cheese, etc.  These items can be dropped off in the new entry (east) to the church
