Bible Study

If there is sufficient interest, we will organize a week-night Bible study class. Perhaps you are interested in reflecting upon the lectionary readings, or more in-depth study into a Biblical book or theme. Maybe a simple soup and sandwich meal and an hour of Bible study afterward. If you have an interest in participating in such a group, contact Linda Brown of the Leadership Development Committee (758-9215; lindabrown@birch.net). I'm interested! If you would like to propose a specific topic of study or apply to teach a Bible study class, contact Fr. Michael Munro (682-1033; rector@stpaulslvn.org).

Intercessory Prayer

Prayer changes things and intercessory prayer is a time-honored part of the Christian tradition. If there is interest in an intercessory prayer group at St. Paul's, we will organize it, perhaps as an actual gathering in the sanctuary or the chapel, or coming together by phone or letter or in cyberspace. This is a ministry for those who are out in the world and those who are at home. We never really pray alone, for when the honest love in us for other people causes us to ask God to act to strengthen, heal, defend, change, or bless them, there is someone else praying with us: the Holy Spirit. In intercessory prayer, we pray listening for the Spirit, and pray that God's will be done. Don't be surprised if the Spirit starts tugging on your heart to take some sort of action about a matter you're praying about! I'm interested! If you are interested in joining an intercessory prayer group, or in leading one, contact Linda Brown of the Leadership Development Committee lindabrown@birch.net
