Community Life at St. Paul's is very active.  The groups shown below and to the left are key to accomplishing the mission of St. Paul's.  Please contact the listed contact or the Parish Administrator for more information.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

What will I be doing? ECW prepares meals for funeral luncheons and special gatherings in the parish hall; members also prepare and deliver meals to parishioners who are ill or who have new babies. Members prepare and serve food, set up tables, and clean up.

Is any special training required? How much time will it take? No special training; hours vary according to the number of activities and the volunteers' schedules. ECW is a small group that would welcome new members!

I'm interested! Contact Boni Lages (woodyboni@aol.com)

FIST +

Friends in Service to St. Paul's

What will I be doing? FIST Group + provides a social environment and a focus for service to the parish community, generally through a monthly workday requiring general skills.  FIST Group + performs limited maintenance and repair to the church, parish hall, and grounds; when called upon, they set up and take down tables and provide other labor for parish events. There is also an important social function, getting members of the community together for a meal (usually breakfast) every month.

Is any special training required? How much time will it take? No special training required; volunteer commitment varies.

I'm interested! Contact Gary Hobin (grhobin@aol.com)

Haitian Episcopal Learning Partnerships (HELP)
... is an alliance of Northeast Kansas parishes that supports health care & education in 12 villages in south Haiti. HELP makes six mission trips to Haiti each year and raises funds and organizes special events to supplement salaries for local health care workers & teachers. The mission trips require a 10-day commitment; HELP volunteers receive educational materials by mail and attend one meeting before departing. Fund-raising and other activities are variable. I'm interested! Contact Helen & Frank Flanner (fflanner@usa.net).

Feed the Hungry Children
...  adult & youth volunteers from our church to St. Paul's - Kansas City to help prepare, serve, & clean up after breakfast for 180+ disadvantaged children and adults one Saturday a month. There is no special training and this ministry takes approximately 4 hours on the Saturdays you choose to help. Dates are announced in The Herald and the church bulletin. I'm Interested! Contact Allen Ohlstein.

Saint Paul's Cyber Parish
... maintains the parish web site. Members help design and implement content, maintain the email-based parish mailing list, and advise on information technology. You need some skills in web design and Microsoft Office and may volunteer as little as 2 hour per month to the Cyber Parish.

The Rummage Sale
... is an annual 6-day event benefiting parish programs. This is a highly labor intensive undertaking. Rummage is collected all year and generously stored by parishioner Charles Campbell. Volunteers advertise the event and price items in advance of the sale and during sale days they set up tables with merchandise and act as salespeople. Training is on-the-job; time commitment varies. I'm interested! Contact Shirley Franklin
